Irish weather is unpredictable, and most electric scooters and ebikes aren't built for a downpour. At Lifty Electrics, we specialize in professional water-protection upgrades that shield your vehicle's "brain"—the controller—from moisture damage.

We use a specialized dual-chemical compound that sets into a waterproof hard gel. This process is non-destructive and does not invalidate your warranty, providing a robust barrier against the elements.

Understanding Your Protection Levels

• IPX4 (Factory Standard): Most rides come with this basic rating. It is only "splash-proof" and is not reliable for rainy days. Exposure to sustained rain or road spray often leads to electrical shorts.

• IPX5 (Rainy Day Entry-Level): Our entry-level upgrade. This makes your machine significantly less prone to water ingress during standard rainy commutes.

• IPX6 (High-Grade Protection): The highest level of protection we offer for your controller. Engineered to withstand much heavier water exposure and high-pressure spray from the road.

Important Safety & Service Limits

To keep your ride running for years, please keep the following in mind:

• Focus Area: These upgrades are applied specifically to the Controller.

• The Motor: Please note that motors cannot be sealed for higher protection levels due to their moving parts.

• Display Protection: To protect your dashboard/screen, please ask a team member in-store or email hello@lifty.co for specific solutions.

• Usage Warning: Water damage usually occurs when moisture shorts the controller wires. Never submerge your scooter in puddles or use a high-pressure power washer, as this can still cause water ingress regardless of the IPX rating.

• Service Nature: This is a Rain Protection Service, not a warranty extension. It is designed to make your ride more resilient, not waterproof under submersion.
