Display, dashboard and communication faults

An electric scooter display can control start-up, riding modes, throttle input, lighting and communication with the controller. Lifty checks power, connectors, cables, buttons and compatibility before replacing a dashboard.

Display faults we assess

  • Blank, flickering or water-damaged screens
  • Broken buttons, throttle or key controls
  • Error codes and communication failures
  • Damaged stems, cables or connectors
  • Incorrect speed, battery or mode information

Why matching matters

Displays that share the same casing may use different pinouts, voltage, firmware and controller protocol. A visual match alone is not enough.

Changing a display cannot legally change where or how a scooter may be used. Lifty does not present unrestricted speed settings as public-road compliance.

Can a cracked display be repaired without replacement?

Sometimes a cover, button or cable can be addressed, but sealed screens and internal water damage often require a compatible replacement.

Why does the new display need the controller checked?

The two components must communicate correctly. An incompatible display may not start the scooter or may show incorrect information.
